May a student assistant pick up sheets and test results?

Yes, but you must supply Opscan with written authorization for the student that includes your signature. Authorization requests are available at our office, but a letter will also suffice. We keep a record of approved assistants for each academic year. It is each instructor’s responsibility to notify our office of any changes in authorized student assistants.

If I don’t use some sheets, what should I do with them?

Because the costs of Opscan sheets are high, please do not throw away unused sheets. Either save them for your own use at a later time or return them to the Opscan Evaluation office.

How do I submit tests to be scanned?

An instructor or approved student assistant must submit jobs in person to staff at the Opscan office. A job consists of: a job request form, a test key, and student tests. If you have multiple tests that use the same type of sheet, use the corner cut on the forms to make sure each test version is facing the same direction (i.e., version A is faced one direction, version B the opposite direction, etc.). This speeds up the scanning process. A sample of the job request form is shown here.

Can I submit several different tests together?

Yes. For example, if you have two classes that will take similar tests but have different answer keys, you can submit both tests on the same job request form. If you have two tests that use different types of sheets, please submit them separately.
