General Teaching Resources
Below, we offer many links of interest to teachers, both new and experienced. The
first section focuses on how to create the classroom environment you want, which, as
researchers point out repeatedly, must be done in the first few days. For teachers
who see value in using humor, there is also a growing body of practical and theoretical
work on how humor functions, as well as what drawbacks accompany its use. Under Educational
Theory, we have collected relevant links on active learning pedagogies, multiple intelligences,
critical pedagogies, etc. These links are supplemented by a series of bibliographies
that point to recent Scholarship in Teaching and Learning that might also be of interest.
