Diversity

Issues of diversity are central to every classroom at Illinois State, and CAT offers the links below to help teachers recognize the various forms that diversity may take, as well as how to create more inclusive classrooms and teaching styles. Writers for the links below remind teachers that their classrooms are always more diverse than they may appear, as much diversity goes without obvious visual signifiers. At the same time, teachers are reminded that their behaviors as teachers have a huge impact on how "diverse" their students will think classrooms are, and teachers are offered several practical strategies for making diversity a natural part of their classes.
