New Faculty Orientation

Welcome to Illinois State University! The Center for Teaching Learning & Technology and the Office of Human Resources are committed to making sure your career at ISU gets off to the best possible start. The following experiences have been designed with that goal in mind.

Click here to register for one or all three.

New Faculty Orientation

New Faculty Orientation (NFO) will be Monday, August 13 in the Old Main Room at the Bone Student Center from 8:15 am–3:00 pm. Join us for a day-long introduction to Illinois State University’s vision, values, culture, history, students, programs, resources, and more. It’s an excellent opportunity to meet other new faculty and identify some of the people and services that can make your first year at ISU a smooth one.

New Faculty Reception

You and a guest are invited to a reception hosted by President Al Bowman and Provost John Presley at the University Residence, 1000 Gregory Street, from 4:00–6:00 pm on Monday, August 13. Relaxing with new friends and colleagues is the perfect end to a busy day.

New Employee Orientation

You can’t miss this session! Sign up for your health, dental, and life insurance as well as other optional benefits. Also, learn details about your retirement plan. A Benefits Counselor will be on hand to guide you through your myriad choices.

We’ll also introduce some of the technologies you’ll need as you begin teaching, researching, and fulfilling other professional commitments at the University. A wide variety of session date and times are available. If you have questions, contact Human Resources at 309-438-8311 or hr@ilstu.edu.

If you need a special accommodation or are unable to register online, please contact Beth Welch (eawelch@ilstu.edu, 309-438-2542).
