Teaching
with Primary Sources is a federally funded program facilitated by Milner Library.
The program provides training on the acquisition and utilization of the more than
10.5 million digital primary sources from the Library of Congress.
The goal of this full-day workshop, presented by Milner Library in partnership with CTLT, is to support and enhance instruction through the integration of primary sources from the Library of Congress. Participants will be introduced to various forms of digital primary resources including documents, maps, sheet music, sound recordings, early motion pictures, and photos. The basics of navigating the various components and features of the Library of Congress web site will be covered.
The workshop begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. in the ITDC Building (301 S. Main St.). Lunch will be provided for all participants courtesy of the Teaching with Primary Sources project.
A $100 stipend is available to eligible participants who complete the workshop. Remember: each faculty is eligible for stipends in no more than five workshops over the summer.
All tenured, tenure-track, and full-time non-tenure track faculty and staff with teaching responsibilities are eligible to register and to receive stipends. Part-time NTT instructors and graduate students are eligible to register and will be admitted as space allows, but they are not eligible for stipends.
